IPS units have been independently tested which show that an IPS aperture unit, fitted within a standard Gyproc partition wall (70mm stud faced both sides with 2 layers of 12.5mm plasterboard) does not reduce the standard acoustic rating of 45RwdB for the wall.
A copy of the full report is available on request.
In instances where higher acoustic ratings are required there are 2 options available:
Use of a ‘Boxed-out’ unit in front of the higher specification wall in order to maintain its integrity.
Provide a suitable acoustic insulation to be fitted within the existing partition wall. Please note that this option is dependant on suitable duct depth being available.
